RED SPLASH

LOCATION: Southern Amazon and the Sipaliwini Savanna in Suriname, South America. 

HABITAT: Terrestrial, they live among the leaf litter on the humid forest floor. Temperature: 65-80 degrees. Humidity: 70%-100%

BREEDING: Maturity 14-24 months, Seasonal breeders.

CHARACTERISTICS: Terrestrial with a black body, featuring a brightly colored irregular red "splashed" pattern on its back. Males produce a soft, long buzzing call.
